Informations
How would you like to hear yourself and the members of your band in their exact positions on stage via your in-ears? It's fun to perform with the audio illusion that the bassist is to your left, the drummer is behind you, and the guitarist is to your right. A normal stereo image is no problem with a set of regular in-ear headphones, but a 3D illusion is something completely different. The KLANG:technologies KLANG:fabrik is capable of making that illusion sound like reality. You can set up a maximum of eight audio sources around your headphones or in-ears using binaural technology.
How the KLANG:fabrik works
A rack module with the bare minimum of controls usually means you can use a tablet to set up the desired parameters, and that is the case with the KLANG:fabrik as well. You can 'place' your fellow musicians anywhere you want with the user-friendly KLANG:app. In general, this rack module is a robust, professional product. Besides 16 XLR outputs, it also features optical ins and outs, as well as Dante and a word clock. Do you need more than eight musicians ion your monitor mix? No problem! Simply daisy-chain a number of KLANG:fabrik modules together to increase the number of audio sources.
Surrounded by sound
This system essentially messes with your brain. Normally, when a sound comes from the right, your right ear tends to pick it up slightly sooner than your left ear. At the same time, your left ear picks up the reflections of that sound on the wall to your left, and the original signal has a different phase*. These minuscule details are what your brain needs for an authentic 'surround-sound' experience. The KLANG:fabrik fabricates differences in timing and phase shifting to create the illusion that the sounds you're hearing are outside your in-ear monitors. Incidentally, the illusion only works via headphones or an in-ear system, not via speakers, because the sound waves need to be transferred directly into your ears for the right effect.
